HTV and Canvas

When it was time to say goodbye to our exchange student we wanted something we could remember the moment with that wasn’t a t-shirt (though I made one for her anyway).

I had this canvas laying around and with some acrylic paints. We each painted a hand and then placed it onto the canvas. I was in a hurry so I used my hairdryer to speed along the paint drying process. Then I cut our names out of HTV.

When applying HTV to a canvas I recommend patience. Depending on where you place the HTV, there may not be enough support for good pressure. In our case, it was close to the edge, but I had paint I was worried wouldn’t like the heat. I applied pressure when possible and used the tip of my iron.

It took a bit to get a good stick, but I am very happy with the results and we have a great keepsake for years to come.
